So....I would like to introduce you to Teri. She is Sierra's mom (thats the cute girlie girl in the photo, and the dashing sailor next to Teri, is Greg her equally adventurous husband) and my sweeties ex-wife, and my friend. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Teri over the past few years. She is very much the adventurous free spirit, and has spent the past 3 years sailing around the world...yes, i did say around the world. She is more comfortable on water than on land...I am sure she was part fish or mermaid in her past life. I spent some time on their sail boat in Barcelona a couple summers ago, and I must say..."I dont know how she did it for 3 years".
Teri is also one of the most methodical, organized, structured women I have ever met....and i must emphasize dirt is her enemy. So when I found out she was going to ride a sand rail for the cure....I immediately said I would support her any way I can. I would give just about anything to see her getting down and dirty! Unfortunately I have to teach while she is racing. If you would like to join me in supporting her (every little bit counts) Click here for her secure donation site.
Powder Puff M.O.R.E Race for a Cure
Thanks sooo much for being a part of finding the cure!
So it happened like this; Dana sat down next to me and fired off three questions. No pause followed each of my answers.
“Do you consider yourself adventurous?” I replied that I did.
She looked me in the eye asking, “How do you feel about dirt?” I lied just a bit when I said I didn’t care for it but could deal.
“Will you be my navigator in the Powder Puff Race for Breast Cancer Research?” “Yes”
Our first day out practicing was an entirely new experience. I honestly could not tell you which is worse, a storm at sea or a ride with Dana across the Mojave Desert.
Because Dana and I both have friends or family that have felt the pains of breast cancer we actually feel somewhat privileged to ride so hard in healthy bodies for a cure.
Marah, I thank you most sincerely for the exposure you gave us and I implore your friends to give as much as they can in these difficult times.
With deep gratitude, Teri
